Attendance
Dance is a physical art form, and one must be physically present in order to learn it. Rince Na Saor's classes meet only once a week, but that class is important. Students who are frequently absent not only miss what was taught while they were gone, they also tend to forget what they've already learned, setting them back even further. Frequent absences are hard on the entire class because classmates dance together as a group at each class.
That said, some absences are inevitable, and unlike most dance studios, Rince Na Saor offers credit for a limited number of absences that will not harm a student or their class. Credit is given in the form of extending a student's account by one class using the following criteria:
From September through March, a maximum of 1 absence per calendar month may receive credit, up to a total of 6. Only the first absence in a given month is eligible to be considered for credit, and once 6 absences have been credited, no further absences will receive credit.
Absences must be reported to the Rince Na Saor number (227-6614) or email (kathyw[at]rns.dance) by 5 p.m. on the day of the class in order to be eligible for credit. Unreported absences will not be credited.
Absences in the months of April, May, and June are not eligible for credit.
Consecutive absences are the hardest on students. In the case of consecutive absences, only the first in the series is eligible to be considered for credit.
Classes offered in sessions (<8 lessons) are not eligible for credits.
Please let me know if you have any questions about attendance or how credits are applied.
